This course covers the training of a pilot wishing to fly in the EU Open Category A1 & A3. Fly for fun, commercial or other aerial purposes. Obtain the A1 / A3 course completion certificate.

This lesson is a series of short videos describing the Do and Do Nots of the EU Regulation on the requirements of the Open subcategories A1 & A3.

Subcategory A1: Your drones weigh less than 500g or are labeled C0. Fly very close to people under 120 meters and in sparsely populated and residential areas.

Subcategory A3: Your drone weighs between 500g and 25kgs or is labeled C2, C3, or C4. Fly 150 meters from residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational areas below 120 meters *

* The A3 is very restrictive! Try the Open A2 course if your drone weighs 500g to <2kg or is labeled C2 and remove this restriction.

Please note that for students who do not have a Greek Tax Identification Number (ΑΦΜ), an administrative fee is required for the processing of their drone pilot license application by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA). Students can pay this fee by selecting the "Administration Fee for Drone Pilot Application" option on our educational platform and completing the course purchase. Once the payment is confirmed, we will proceed with issuing the fee through the official Greek e-Paravolo platform and continue the application process on your behalf.
